I loved it! I'm a real sucker for any animal videos - just being themselves. I'd never seen this spider before; now I need to go into some new arachnoid research. Once again, Mr. Spider is much more attractive than Mrs. Spider!
I could not get my iMac to play the videos from the course. I was able to play the Babette's Feast lecture in iTunes. Go figure. I may have to fire up an old Windows laptop and try it. If you haven't inked your new LAMY you might want to run some water through it with a drop of detergent. Check youtube for how to clean new fountain pen. Sometimes there are left over oils inside from the manufacturing process.
Oops! I received the ink cartridges and inked it up. It's skipped a couple of places - but I figure that's normal. I bought a notebook yesterday and have entered my first journal note this morning before reading your reply.
Started out to learn more about the Rainbow Jumping Spider of australia and came upon this blog: http://www.thefeaturedcreature.com/. Take a look; this young lady appears to combine personal beauty with an avid animal love. I'm going to follow her blog to see how it goes . . .
The pen shouldn't skip after a couple days use. If it does, put a drop or two of liquid detergent in a small glass of water and using the converter suck the water up and down in the pen and give it a final rinse with clear water. I have a baby ear syringe which works well to really give your pen a cleaning out occasionally. I mentioned that I have Clarefontaine paper for my journal. The Sustainable paper I get at Staples I cut into smaller pieces for notes at my desk. With fountain pens, it is a matter of finding the right combination of ink and paper that work well together. Enjoy. I have four LAMY Safari pens in 1.1 mm italic, fine, and medium nibs.
If you go to http://www.gouletpens.com/Nib_Nook_s/1114.htm you will be able to see writing samples of all the Safari nibs.
