So much fun - at least to consider! From time to time, when making a birthday cake or the like, I find it interesting to tally the cost of ingredients - just for the fun of it. One time I made a friend a Chocolate Amaretto Cheese Cake (to serve 8) for his birthday - the cost of ingredients came to something over $40 (in 1980) - I thought that was quite a nice BD gift for the man who had everything! I also have a Brownie recipe that I've worked and worked on over the years. However, I don't make it often, only for very special occasions, as it costs about $38 for ingredients - but boy, is it decadent! And, worth every penny I'd say!
